SWAT Team briefing on Mukilteo Boulevard Saturday night.

Late Saturday night we reported on a SWAT team being called to a house in the 4700 block of Sound Avenue. At the time there were few details available. Usually the most exciting thing in that southwest Everett neighborhood is a slumber party where the pillow fight gets out of control.

This turned in to a Saturday night shootout between two friends. Here are more details on what happened courtesy of Aaron Snell at Everett Police…

Officers responded to the 4700 block of Sound Ave on reports of multiple shots fired and males arguing. Arriving officers detained a 20-year-old male who had a minor wound and reported he had been shot at multiple times inside a residence.

The 20-year-old victim indicated he was visiting a friend (the suspect) and fell asleep. When he woke, he discovered some of his personal property missing and believed the suspect stole it. A confrontation ensued whereby both parties armed themselves and exchanged shots inside the residence. The victim exited the front door but decided to re-enter by shooting out the lock. When he was unsuccessful, he fled but was detained by police.

The 17-year-old suspect refused to exit the house and SWAT responded to the residence. After several hours, the suspect surrendered without incident and he had no injuries.

Detectives served a search warrant and seized multiple firearms and illegal drugs from the house.

The 17-year-old was booked into Denny Youth Center for assault.
