In 1973 members of the Everett Police Department and their families served their first Senior Holiday Meal.
Today that tradition continued at the Carl Gipson Senior Center in downtown Everett.
The first seating was at noon and by the time today is through nearly 400 seniors in Everett will have enjoyed a traditional ham dinner with all the trimmings.
The meal is purchased, prepared and served by employees of the Everett Police Department including officers, command staff and civilian workers along with their kids and families with everyone volunteering their time.
In addition to the meal there was also entertainment and a chance for officers and their families to mix and chat with Everett seniors in a relaxed, festive setting.
Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos of the day’s activity.
