Head-On Crash Shuts Southbound Evergreen Way

Southbound Evergreen Way was closed for two and a half hours late Wednesday afternoon following a head-on crash that involved five vehicles.

Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell tells MyEverettNews.com that the 9-1-1 center began receiving calls about 4:45 PM of a head on crash in the 9700 block of Evergreen Way. It first came in that an Everett City Transit bus was involved but that turned out not to be the case as the bus was able to avoid the crash.

Snell says a white pickup was northbound on Evergreen Way when it went around a van in the two way left turn lane and directly into southbound traffic. In all, three people were treated for injuries with two taken to Providence Regional Medical Center. No word on the extent of their injuries.

Everett Police traffic detectives were called out to the crash due to the severity and number of vehicles involved. No word yet if drugs or alcohol played any part. Here are a couple of MyEverettNews.com photos from the scene. Click photo to enlarge.
