“They are correct, for now. We have lost our venue for the next two years, at least. That being said, we are very sad & disappointed.”

That’s the response via email after MyEverettNews.com reached out to Lonnie Meadows with the Seattle Rod-Tiques after hearing there wouldn’t be a Cruzin’ to Colby ® car show in downtown Everett over Memorial Day Weekend next year.

Seattle Rod-Tiques car club has hosted the Annual Cruzin’ to Colby ® car show over Memorial Day Weekend in Downtown Everett since 1999.

While the club was making plans for 2017 they were advised the Holiday Inn hotel at Pacific and I-5 was going to be closed for renovations after being sold. For years the hotel has been the headquarters for the event hosting car owners from throughout the Pacific Northwest and serving as the venue for the annual dance and other festivities.

Earlier this year the Holiday Inn was sold to a Whatcom County developer and will be closed for extensive remodeling and a re-branding. Meadows said the hotel could not guarantee construction would be completed in time for the annual show.

If you think you can find a way to save the show in Everett next year here is the contact information for the Seattle Rod-Tiques car club.

It would be a big hit to the downtown Everett economy to lose this event even for a year or two.
