Double Check Your Everett Utility Bill

Got a message from the City of Everett today about a possible error if you paid your Everett Utility bill online or by phone on October 20th. Here’s the message…

If you paid your water bill on October 20th be sure to check your bank statement.

City of Everett utility customers who paid their bills through the City’s website or by telephone on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, may have had their accounts charged twice. It is believed that as many as 485 customers have been impacted. The City is in the process of notifying customers.

The City is working with its third party billing vendor, FIS Global, and credit card processor, Elavon Merchant Services, to determine the cause of the error, resolve it as quickly as possible and minimize impacts to customers.

Customers’ financial institutions are being notified today of the discrepancy. It is anticipated that it will take up to five business days from today for the charges to be reversed.
