Arrest Made In Colby Avenue Shooting

Everett, Police Blotter

Editor’s Update 1:35PM: Everett Police just issued the following information in this case…

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit arrested a female in conjunction with the September 28th shooting that locked down Everett High School.

In the morning hours of September 28th, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Colby Ave on the report of a gunshot heard in the area. Arriving officers found an adult male had been shot. The 49 year-old Everett resident was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Reports indicated an adult female shot the male and fled the area. During the initial investigation, officers located a backpack they believed the female left hidden near the crime scene. The investigation led officers to arrest and book an 18 year-old female into the Snohomish County Jail on an assault charge (RCW 9A.36.011).

The shooting happened within a block of Everett High School which caused a lockdown and diverted students arriving by bus to a nearby location. Once the initial investigation concluded, the Everett School District lifted the lockdown and resumed normal operations.

Last night Everett Police arrested an 18-year-old woman in connection with the Colby Avenue shooting near Everett High School on September 28th. This afternoon the woman suspected in that case is expected to make her first court appearance. According to probable cause documents the female suspect and male shooting victim were involved in drugs and had an encounter a few days prior to the shooting. The victim is expected to recover from his injuries. We expect more details from Everett Police this afternoon. The shooting did not involve anyone or have anything to do with Everett High.

This story is also the most current item I see on this site. My browser cache is flushed daily, so that isn’t the issue.
Something else is going on with the site.

I assure you I am extremely tech savvy and have tried everything. I could go in and attempt to analyze the source code of your of your WordPress theme and plug-ins but that’s far too time consuming. Whatever backend code or plug-in changed on October 14th, it has stopped posting your articles to the front page of your site.

P.S. I’m a former web developer of ten years.

I’ll try to look into it but others are seeing the daily updates and making comments. I’ve tried mobile phone, 3 different browsers and a tablet and can see all of the daily updates on each. Not sure what’s going on but will try to find out.
