Everett, Police Blotter

Editor’s Update 1:35PM: Everett Police just issued the following information in this case…

Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit arrested a female in conjunction with the September 28th shooting that locked down Everett High School.

In the morning hours of September 28th, officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Colby Ave on the report of a gunshot heard in the area. Arriving officers found an adult male had been shot. The 49 year-old Everett resident was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Reports indicated an adult female shot the male and fled the area. During the initial investigation, officers located a backpack they believed the female left hidden near the crime scene. The investigation led officers to arrest and book an 18 year-old female into the Snohomish County Jail on an assault charge (RCW 9A.36.011).

The shooting happened within a block of Everett High School which caused a lockdown and diverted students arriving by bus to a nearby location. Once the initial investigation concluded, the Everett School District lifted the lockdown and resumed normal operations.
