The City of Everett says a combination of low tide and hot weather are making for a smelly north Everett this week. Here’s a press release put out yesterday by the city that offers a bit of an explanation…
A strong sewage-like odor has been reported in north Everett. City of Everett crews checked sewer facilities and pipes and confirm that the smell is NOT coming from the City sewer system. Dry weather and low tides are likely responsible for the offending odor that has been wafting through some neighborhoods in the evening hours.
Olfactory issues can be reported to the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (800-552-3565).
With record setting heat predicted Thursday – Saturday it may be a while before the problem goes away.
Everett smell, smell
