$76,000.00 Raised For Hawthorne Playground
Kids were getting splinters from the old logs.
The new equipment should be installed by the end of this year.
Today the Everett School District announced $76,000.00 has been raised to replace the aging and dangerous playground equipment at Hawthorne Elementary School in north Everett.
A District thank you goes out to Howarth Trust ($25,000 through the Everett Public Schools Foundation), Hawthorne PTA ($26,266), a grant from Snohomish County ($16,000), Schaeffer Crane ($5,000), and a number of private individuals ($4,000) for funding new playground equipment at Hawthorne Elementary School.
Hawthorne PTA and district staff will work together to select the new playground equipment which is expected to be installed by the end of December 2016.
