Fast work by Everett Firefighters kept a stubborn porch fire from advancing into a house early Saturday morning.
Around 5:30 AM the call came in of a porch fire at a house in the 8100 block of Florida in south Everett.
Arriving fire crews saw smoke billowing from the front porch.
They were able to contain the fire to the front and keep it from spreading into the house.
The heavy duty construction of the porch made getting to the heart of the fire a chore for crews who used chain saws and a rotary saw to gain access.
An Everett fire investigator is now on scene to determine the cause.
There was at least one person home at the time of the fire. He was not injured.
