There were no injuries but a duplex fire on 107th street SW just south of the Everett city limits left four people needing assistance from the Red Cross today.

According to Leslie Hynes of Fire District 1 the fire was called in around 2:00 PM.

Responding crews reported seeing smoke as they approached.

City of Everett Fire crews provided mutual aid to District 1.

On arrival, firefighters found one half of the duplex along with a car in front fully involved.

There were people in both sides of the duplex at the time of the fire and all made it out safely.

District 1 firefighters were also able to reunite a cat with its owner.

Hynes says damage is estimated at $180,000.00.

The duplex fire started when oil heating in a pan on the stovetop ignited
