USS Gridley

Expect to see the crew of the Gridley manning the rails into Everett this afternoon.

The latest ship to call Naval Station Everett home is headed to Port today. The USS Gridley was supposed to arrive on Thursday but was delayed.

The best places to view the ship with crew on the rails may be Mukilteo Lighthouse Park or Harborview Park.

Public viewing is not allowed on the base.

Due to security concerns the Navy does not provide exact time lines so the closest arrival information we have is by 5:00 PM.

Here’s a bit more from Naval Station Everett…

Gridley’s transit to Everett was initially planned for July 7, but was delayed due to a change in her operational schedule.

Gridley was formerly stationed at Naval Base San Diego. She is the first of four destroyers that will shift homeport to Everett, Washington over the next year. Most of the ship’s crew and their families have already moved to the area.

Naval Station Everett is committed to supporting Navy and Coast Guard service members and appreciates the flexibility of community stakeholders during fluctuations in ship operations and schedules.
