Lot Of Smoke, Little Damage At Recycling Fire
Smoke was coming from the building as Firefighters arrived
About 2:45 this morning Everett Fire crews were called to a recycling facility on the former Weyerhaeuser property next to the Snohomish River. Arriving crews found smoke coming from inside the concrete building. The building is used to store recycled material including what appeared to be compost. Firefighters put out hot spots and a loader was brought in to remove the materials from the building. Fire crews then watered that material down. No word yet on the cause and damage appears to be minimal. We’ll provide an update when more information becomes available. Here are some MyEverettNews.com photos from this morning.
