May 31, 2016

Everett, Police Blotter

The driver tried to stop but was unable.

The driver was shaken up but not injured and is cooperating with police.

It appears the driver was not at fault in a car-pedestrian crash at 13th and Broadway. Everett Police tell it appears a man and woman were crossing the street outside of the crosswalk and against the light when the man was struck by a car going southbound on Broadway near 13th street. The man smashed the windshield of the car on impact.

He was taken by medics to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The woman he was with was not hit. Sgt. Hacker with Everett Police says the man was 31-years-old from Marysville and the driver of the car was a 57-year-old Everett woman. She stayed on the scene and cooperated with officers. The crash happened about 2:00 PM. Traffic on Broadway was affected for about an hour.
