Everett Animal Shelter

Do you agree fees should be raised to cover costs?

Next Wednesday the Everett Animal Shelter will hold a public hearing on proposed fee increases. They include impound, licensing and adoption adjustments. The last time fees were adjusted was in 2011.

Animal Services Director Glynis Frederiksen explains that revenue from the fees helps cover the shelter’s operating costs of caring for 5,000 animals each year. The proposal includes changes to licensing fees, adoption fees, and reclaim fees charged to the general public.

You can comment in person at the meeting next Wednesday May 25th at 5:30 at the Everett Animal Shelter or you can also comment in writing. Written comments can be mailed to: Glynis Frederiksen, Everett Animal Services; 333 Smith Island Rd, Everett WA 98201 or sent to gfrederiksen@everettwa.gov.
