A Haz-Mat call complicated things for people taking a quick Saturday morning run to the solid waste transfer station at Paine Field this morning.
About 8:15 AM two workers said they felt ill after a powdery substance came out of one of the compactors.
Crews from Paine Field Fire, District 1 and Everett Fire responded.
The two people were checked by medics and released.
Fire crews spent the next hour and a half going through the contents of the solid waste station trying to determine the nature of the substance.
At 9:45 AM the all clear was given and fire crews turned the station back over to Snohomish County Solid Waste employees.
No word on what was the exact problem.
