It’s just simulated gunfire…A heads up for people in the area of Naval Station Everett Thursday courtesy of Kristin Ching…

Naval Station Everett will be conducting a security exercise in the harbor around the base on May 12 between 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Usual traffic and pedestrian access to the base will not be affected.

The exercise will include small boat maneuvers in the harbor and the use of blank rounds, to enhance training realism. Exercise participants will not be using live ammunition.

The purpose of the exercise is to maintain and improve the qualifications of emergency response personnel. The Navy is committed to protecting the security of its base personnel and homeported vessels, as well as the maritime environment and surrounding community.
