Public safety event targets north Everett residents

The City and Everett Police Department are hosting a community safety event for neighborhoods in north Everett on Wednesday, April 13, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Everett Performing Arts Center (2710 Wetmore Avenue).

The event is focused on the neighborhoods in north Everett and is a result of residents’ interest in learning more about available resources, law enforcement agencies and their roles, and how neighborhoods can enhance community safety. City staff and representatives from other local agencies will share information and answer questions about how community members can help prevent and reduce crime.

Speakers will include staff from the Everett Police Department, Everett Code Enforcement, Snohomish County Regional Drug & Gang Task Force, Everett Park & Recreation Rangers, and SNOPAC911. Topics will include personal and community safety, gang education, available law enforcement resources, safe utilization of common areas, and how to get help. Audience members will have the opportunity to ask general questions after the presentations; the event is designed to be an opportunity for information gathering and is not intended to address individual concerns.

While the event is open to everyone, residents and business owners from the Bayside, Delta, Northwest, Port Gardner and Riverside neighborhoods are especially encouraged to attend.
