Everett Broadway Bridge Puts On A Light Show

If you haven’t traveled the new Broadway Bridge over the railroad tracks between Hewitt and California streets at night lately you’re in for a surprise. Testing is almost done on the lighting feature over the bridge. Here’s a quick video to give you an idea of what it looks like.

Ryan Sass with the City of Everett engineering department tells MyEverettNews.com they are working on the final timing of the color changes and brightness and expect to be fully up and running this week.

I don’t live in Everett any longer and yes like EVERY large city there are drug issues.. The repairs and rebuild of the bridge for safety for all, even the whinners… The colors add to the cultural, entertainment aspect of this area…
Instead of complaining about the “tweeker” problems in the area be part of the solution. Get involved. When I was taken back by the number of homeless women and children, I volunteered at the mission. Complaining won’t fix it.
    The lights look great!

Some of my relatives live back East in Boston Ma. There is a bridge back there that was called the Tobin bridge, but due to cracks and plain old weather ridden problems the Mayor decided to okay a multi-million dollar bridge talk about taxes rising. It was really needed but at what cost to the people of Boston? When I sent the link to my family my sister said, “OMG what a distraction that would be I would probably crash.’
Does anyone know if they closed down the bridge while the light show what happening? Never mind I just watched the video and their were cars driving by lol

    Is everything about tweakers now?

    I like it…

Nice in a Vegas Strip sort of way.

Do you know what would be nice? If the city would stop squandering our money on ‘nice’ things and reduce or taxes. That would be nice.

  7. Anon Says:

What are you guys complaining about? It’s pretty. Can’t we have at least one nice thing, even if it costs a little extra?

  8. Eleanore Says:

WHY? what good do colored lights do? what a waste of taxpayer money

  9. Bourne Says:

This is akin to putting lipstick on a pig.

How much did this light show cost?

I’ve never heard you say a nice thing about this city, unless it’s related to an arrest. I wish you’d move away and free up space for someone that actually likes it here.

Beats the hell out of rainbow crosswalks in Seattle. Pushing their agenda and lifestyle on everyone else.
