Everett Police search the shooting suspect Friday afternoon.

A 41-year-old Everett man is being held on $100,000.00 bail in connection with a shooting at an Everett apartment Friday afternoon. A bail hearing was held Sunday. Today the shooting suspect failed to appear at his probable cause hearing due to an undisclosed medical condition. Judge Tam Bui re-set that hearing for tomorrow.

According to probable cause papers filed by Everett Police, the suspect in the shooting was confronted by the victim at an apartment in the 3500 Block of Broadway late Friday afternoon.

The victim told police he wanted the suspect to pay him for some slashed tires. The suspect reportedly fired more than one shot at the victim with one bullet going through the victim’s abdomen.

A detective wrote in the probable cause papers he saw two bullet holes in the wall near where the victim stated he was standing.

The suspect reportedly told police the victim was shot by a drug dealer who lived in the apartment by the hour.

The suspect is well known to Everett Police and at the time of his arrest had six outstanding warrants.

The victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

The Snohomish County Prosecutor has two days to file formal charges or release the suspect from custody.

The incident was the third report of gunfire in Everett, Washington in three days. There was this incident on Friday afternoon. A drive-by shooting reported at 2:00 AM Saturday morning near 37th and Hoyt and 2 shots fired into a car during a robbery attempt Sunday night in the 9500 block of Evergreen Way. None of the shootings appear to be related.
