The crash happened well south of the marked crosswalk where Evergreen Way is 7 lanes.

A man was in the street outside of the crosswalk south of 4th Ave. West and Evergreen Way Sunday night when he was struck by a Toyota.

Shortly after 10:30 PM the Toyota was going northbound on Evergreen Way when the man, who was wearing dark clothing. stepped in front of the car. He hit the front windshield and landed in the street.

The woman driving the car stopped and was cooperating with Everett patrol officers. Everett Medics and firefighters from station 6 treated the man and then transported him to Providence Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the car was shaken up but not injured. Everett Police say she did not appear to be impaired. No word if the pedestrian was impaired or not but the preliminary investigation showed he appeared to be a good 20 feet south of the marked crosswalk when he stepped into the seven lane road.
