Fast Work By Everett Firefighters Saves House

The fire did not get the chance to extend into the house.

Firefighters cut open the siding to get at remaining hot spots.

The back deck was in flames when fire crews arrived.
Everett Firefighters were able to keep a deck fire from spreading into a house in the 1600 block of Cedar Street Thursday afternoon.
Shortly before 3:00 PM calls came into 9-1-1 of a back deck on fire.
Arriving Everett Fire crews encountered flames at the rear of the house and made a quick stop on the fire.
Both the deck and a wood pile underneath were on fire but Everett Firefighters were able to keep it from extending inside to the living area.
An investigator is at the house and looking for the cause of the fire.
There were no injuries and so far no damage estimate.
