He was named “Beardo” for the fake beard he wore during at least seven bank robberies in Everett over the past nine months.

Today Judge Anthony Howard ordered a clean shaven Christian Franzwa held on $750,000.00 bail during a probable cause hearing in Everett.

In probable cause paperwork filed in his arrest on Friday Everett Police described multiple times where Franzwa visited banks not wearing a disguise and also conducted surveillance on one bank through binoculars. Everett Police say they spent days watching Franzwa and observed him conducting counter-surveillance measures as they watched him.

On Friday, Everett Police followed him from his house, seeing him in full disguise. He parked near a bank he’s suspected of previously robbing. When they contacted him he had a black pellet gun sitting on the seat next to him. He was taken into custody without incident. The bank had been locked down and warned of his presence immediately prior to his arrest.

The Snohomish County Prosecutor is expected to file formal charges later this week.
