Everett Firefighters responded to a 2 Alarm Fire at the Marnice Apartments in the 1000 block of 75th Street Friday afternoon.

Residents reported smoke coming from the eaves of a 2nd Floor apartment around 4:00 PM.

Everett Firefighters arrived and found smoke coming from one unit and a second alarm was called.

Crews from Mukilteo and Fire District 1 responded with mutual aid.

Inside the fire unit firefighters located a male resident who was unresponsive. They began CPR.

The man was taken to a medic unit and then transported to Providence Regional Medical Center. He passed away at the hospital around 6:00 PM.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to the one unit but at least one other apartment had some smoke and water damage.

The Red Cross will be helping out the families of the affected units.

No word yet on the cause of the fire or a damage estimate.

This is the fourth fire fatality in Everett in the last 44 days.
