Current Assistant Fire Marshal Eric Hicks is being promoted to Assistant Chief/Fire Marshal.

Current Firefighter/Paramedic Randy Utt will be promoted to Assistant Chief of Operations.

More firefighters will be joining the Everett Fire Department in 2016. Everett Fire will be hiring two experienced firefighters this spring who are expected to be assigned to a platoon in May.

The department will also be taking 8 new-hire firefighters off the current eligibility list and sending all 8 to the Washington State Fire Academy at the end of April.

City of Everett Public Information Director Meghan Pembroke tells MyEverettNews.com the leadership changes have been in the works for the last several months and were announced to Everett Fire Department crews January 6th.
