Crews prepare to overhaul the room where the fire was found.
The Red Cross will be helping some tenants after a fire inside a room at a house converted to apartments on Cedar street this morning.
The fire was reported at 7:55 AM inside a 3 story house in the 2800 block of Cedar just north of Hewitt.
Everett Fire crews quickly arrived and were able to keep the fire contained to the room where it began.
Hewitt was closed in both directions at Cedar for about 45 minutes as hose from a fire hydrant was run across Hewitt to an engine.
There were no injuries but firefighters did assist one person in getting out of the basement apartment. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
