Everett, Everett Fire

Editor’s Update January 11th 5:00 PM: Sad to report that the barista has passed away from her injuries in the fire.

Editor’s Update January 8th 2:45 PM: Last word from Harborview Hospital is the barista is in critical condition. Here’s the latest on the cause from Eric Hicks at Everett Fire…Fire investigators today are continuing the investigation into the cause of fire that injured a barista Thursday evening.

“After reviewing security video, we believe a propane tank stored inside the coffee stand contributed to the fire,” said Everett Assistant Fire Marshal Eric Hicks. “We still have yet to interview the victim and we are hoping to do so soon.”

Propane is an odorless gas, but contains an additive that smells like rotten eggs so people can detect it. The Everett Fire Department urges citizens to leave their house immediately and call 911 if they encounter an unusual smell.

Calls for new OSHA regs are mere moments away.

Cup of coffee after studies and new regulation $10

Saints and sinners? what kind of name for a coffee stand is that? stupid

    • Anonymous Says:

The name is meant to indirectly indicate to prospective customers that the stand is operated by a scantily clad woman. In that light, it seems effective.

      • Eleanore Says:

tacky selling coffee and porn, some men are just pigs

I can’t help but think the lack of clothing caused this barista to suffer worse injuries. I drive by that place and the “bikinis” are little more than dental floss and pasties.

ya, Eleanore if the pig that laid down with your mother didn’t enjoy sex so much the world would be missing your unique and enlightened perspective. So I see your point.

      • Robert Says:

Or less injuries… as clothes often fuse into the meat when burning and then require removal of meat contaminated by clothing material.

    • Stolls Says:

      you’re stupid

propane fire started by smoking/ lighting in a closed area with leaking propane hoses/ fitting, or from the propane heater flame. Either way, Because it’s too cold to wear a BIKINI! So, there WAS a propane burner/heater being used.
    Info from workers next door.

Being a barista myself and working in a ton of different espresso stands, this probably was startes by an electrical fire. I haven’t heard any reports, this is just my guess. What really sucks is thay was most likely the baristas car. The significance of it being a bikini stand is probably irrelevant to how the fire started, besides the intelligence of the owner or baristas. Because my guess is this was an electrical fire, working in stands for 5 years it is easily possible.
