The City of Everett is looking for people interested in making Everett a better place. Both the Public Facilities Board that oversees Xfinity Arena and the Charter Review Committee have openings. Here’s what you need to know if you’d like to apply…

The City of Everett is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the five-member Public Facilities District (PFD) board of directors.

The PFD board actively manages the Everett Public Facilities District, which owns Xfinity Arena. The board meets once a month. Individuals with a background in accounting or who have experience managing public assembly spaces are encouraged to apply for the current vacancy.

Applications for the PFD board are due Friday, Jan. 15. Mayor Ray Stephanson will review the applications and recommend an applicant to the City Council for approval.

City extends deadline for Charter Review Committee applications

Everett residents interested in serving on the City’s Charter Review Committee have two more weeks to apply. The City has extended the deadline for applications to Friday, Jan. 15.

The Charter Review Committee is tasked with reviewing the city’s charter every ten years. The charter is the city’s constitution that outlines how the city’s legislative, judicial and executive branches operate. The committee begins meetings in early February and will make a recommendation to City Council on or before June 1, 2016.

Mayor Stephanson will appoint at least seven members of the committee, and the City Council will appoint an equal number of members. The committee will select one more member at their first meeting.
