The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office announced this morning it has made an arrest in a shooting over the weekend. Here are the details as provided in a press release by Shari Ireton with SCSO…

Major Crimes detectives have arrested a 19 year-old man for 1st degree murder. The man is suspected of shooting a 17 year-old male in the head at a residence in the 12300 block of 4th Pl W early Saturday morning.

During the course of the investigation, detectives learned that there had been a party at the location of the shooting. Sheriff’s deputies responded to several “shots fired” calls near that location around 3:40 a.m.

Around 4 a.m., a 911 call came from personnel at Swedish Hospital in Snohomish County that a patient had been dropped off at the emergency room with gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to Harborview Regional Medical Center and died Saturday afternoon.

A vehicle that was seen dropping off the victim at Swedish was later located by deputies at the residence where the shooting is believed to have occurred.

Deputies observed what appeared to be blood in the interior of the vehicle. The suspect was identified, taken into custody and booked into the Snohomish County jail this morning.

The identity of the victim has not yet been released. Detectives are investigating whether the incident was gang-related.
