3:00 PM update:
This afternoon a Snohomish County Judge set bail at $150 thousand dollars for 58-year-old Kerry B. Stark of Everett in connection with last night’s fatal hit and run crash on 19th Avenue SE south of Silver Lake.Stark listened quietly as lawyers went over his arraignment and the judge found probable cause to hold him. He has no reported criminal history and his lawyer told the court he is retired and on disability.
If he posts bail Stark has to comply with conditions including no law violations, no consumption of alcohol or marijuana and is subject to breath tests.
In court papers outlining probable cause for his arrest, Everett Police say a witness saw a black pick-up collide with a bicyclist and knock him to the ground on 19th Ave. S.E. near 126th street S.E.
The pickup continued without stopping to check on the cyclist. The witness followed the truck until an Everett Police officer pulled the truck over at 112th and Silver Lake Road and Stark was identified as the driver.
Meanwhile at the scene aid crews from Everett Fire and Fire District 7 worked on the victim, performing CPR for 30 minutes but the bicyclist died at the scene. The Medical Examiner is expected to release his identity soon.
Prosecutors have until December 4th to file felony charges of vehicular homicide and hit and run death in Superior Court.
