Neither the Navy boat or Everett boat could get up close to the sailboat.

It looks to be a long evening for several people whose sailboat got stuck in the mudflats just north of the 10th street boat launch Tuesday night.

Shortly after 10:00 PM a call went out about people trapped in a sailboat stuck in the mud.

Everett Police, Everett Fire and a rescue boat from Naval Station Everett responded.

Because of the extreme low tide neither the Navy boat nor the Everett Marine rescue boat were able to get close enough to help the people off the sail boat.

Police and Firefighters did check on them and a decision made that it would be best to wait until high tide.
