An observant neighbor and a fast response by Everett Firefighters led to a good outcome at a small house in the 2200 block of Oakes Avenue in north Everett.
Just before 6:30PM smoke was spotted in the window of the house just off the alley. Everett Firefighters were able to get a quick stop and limit the fire to the kitchen area.
Three dogs were in the house but are alright. The Red Cross was called to help two people for the evening due to smoke and water damage.
No word yet on the exact cause of the fire. An fire investigator is on the scene.
