It’s been called the largest coho derby on the west coast and it’s back for the 22nd year. This weekend the Everett Coho Derby happens at the Port of Everett.

The prize money is in the thousands and there are individual, team and youth divisions along with several other ways for anglers to win both cash, trucks and boats.

Dan Hatch, owner of Bayside Marine, one of the sponsors of the event, tells MyEverettNews.com his favorite part is the kids. “This is a great event to introduce kids to fishing,” said Hatch. “It’s free for kids 12 and under and every kid who catches a fish gets a prize.”

It’s a great shot to the Everett economy as well with nearly 2000 anglers expected to attend along with friends and family. Interested in fishing or just some great people watching? You can find out more on the Everett Coho Derby Facebook page.
