WSDOT will replace more than 7,700 feet of existing guardrail with new, taller guardrail on the outer edges of the highway and concrete barrier in the center roadway of SR 526 in Everett.

If you work second or third shift at the Everett Boeing plant here’s a head’s up for you.

The Washington State department of Transportation says contractor crews will replace more than 7,700 feet of existing guardrail between 5th Avenue West (Hardeson Road) and Casino Road (Dunn Lumber) in Everett. They will install nearly 3,000 feet of taller guardrail along the outer edges of the highway, and 4,750 feet of concrete barrier in the center roadway.

Starting Monday, SR 526 drivers should expect single-lane closures nightly from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. westbound and from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. eastbound Monday through Friday mornings. There will also be at least one weekend-long, single-lane closure (3 p.m. on a Saturday to be determined to 4:30 a.m. the following Monday) in both directions of SR 526, as well as multiple ramp closures and detours in the area.
