Springer said there was several thousand dollars in damage done to the fifth floor but things were quickly being cleaned up.
It was a rude awakening for guests of the Hampton Inn at West Marine View Drive and Wall Street in Everett this morning. Shortly before 2:00AM fire alarms began sounding and guests were evacuated outside. Everett Fire crews arrived and didn’t find any fire but discovered that on the 5th floor someone had sprayed dry chem fire extinguishers, vandalized signs and tried to turn on the water in the stairwell. Everett Police have detained a person of interest at the hotel and are conducting an investigation. More details as they become available.
