Editor’s Update Fri. Aug 4th 6:45AM: The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office says they have taken a 17-year-old into custody for the shootings of brother and sister last night following a standoff at an apartment complex south of Everett.

Editor’s Update Fri Aug. 4th 6:15AM: Major Crimes detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office believe they have located the male suspect from the shooting that occurred yesterday. He is believed to be inside a condominium unit at the 1500 block of 115th St SW but refusing to leave the building. Deputies have secured the area and a standoff continues.

Major Crimes detectives with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office are searching for evidence between Discovery Elementary School and Voyager Middle School where a shooting occurred Thursday night. Detectives expect to clear the scene before the school day begins.

The suspect, described as a black male in his early 20’s last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, fled the area on foot. It is believed he was with three females when the shooting occurred. Anyone who has information about the suspects or incident is asked to call 911.

It was confirmed that the victims are siblings. Status of their condition is unknown.

This just in from the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office…

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies are searching for a man who allegedly shot two teenagers near Discovery Elementary tonight. The victims, a 14 year-old female and 17 year-old male, have been transported to Harborview Regional Medical Center.

The shooting was reported around 6:30 tonight near the 11700 block of Meridian Ave S. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20’s wearing a red sweatshirt. K9 units and law enforcement from several other agencies have joined in the search for the suspect.

The shooting did not occur at the school, but nearby, and no one from the school (including staff and students) were injured or involved.
