Today marked the opening of a show by photographer Kari Quaas featuring “Everett Sunsets”. The show runs through September 15th inside Oh Sweet! Chocolate at 2918 Hoyt across the street from Schack Art Center in downtown Everett.

Quaas has been taking photographs of sunsets over the Everett waterfront almost daily since October of 2013 and operates a website called Everett Sunsets that features many of her works. “It’s a nice way to end the day,” said Quaas about taking a sunset photo each night. “They’re all different.”

Quaas told MyEverettNews.com that she takes the photos from the house where she grew up in north Everett which was built by her father, Ralph Quaas.

This is her first showing of her sunset photos and she told us that while she loves shooting sunsets, her favorite subjects to photograph are kitty cats. You can see those photos and many other beautiful images at KariQuaas.com.

All of the photos on display at Oh Sweet! Chocolate are for sale and are printed on sheets of aluminum which adds to their unique quality.

While there be sure to check out the artistry in chocolate performed daily by owner Angie Carozzo who opened the store in February of this year.
