There was another fire this morning at the Best Motor Inn on the 1100 Block of Broadway in north Everett. Smoke was reported coming from a room on the second floor around 5:00AM. Everett Firefighters were able to contain the fire to that single room and keep it from spreading.
This is just the most recent of several fires since the motel closed. Squatters have been an ongoing issue at the property for both the Everett Police and Fire Departments.
There are plans on the drawing board to convert the property into a Red Lion. Those plans are in the early stages.
An Everett Fire Department investigator was on the scene to determine how this fire started. Here are a few MyEverettNews.com photos from the scene this morning. Click to enlarge.
