I-5 Brush Fires Between Everett and Arlington May Be Arson

June 30, 2015

Everett, Everett Fire

Editor’s Update 4:00pm: A State Patrol Spokeswoman says they are looking for a Hyundai Sonata with two men who have white hair who were reportedly seen by a deputy trying to set a fire with a flare. At this point there is no other information but WSP would like anyone travelling along I-5 who saw anything suspicious to call 9-1-1.

The Everett Fire Department has had crews alongside of I-5 for more than two hours today battling several brush fires in the grass on the west side of the freeway. The Marysville Fire Department requested assistance after multiple fires were reported and Everett sent a full response. Everett dealt with at least 4 different locations from Dagmar’s Landing south to the Snohomish River Bridge. An Everett Fire Investigator is looking into the cause and origin of the fires while the Washington State Patrol has launched a criminal investigation. We’ll provide more details as they become available.

Here are some MyEverettNews photos from I-5 near Dagmar’s…
