These warning signs are going up at Silver Lake Park

The City of Everett is putting up signs warning drivers that the parking lot at Silver Lake park is not for commuters or car-poolers. Here’s the official press release sent out this week…

Thornton A. Sullivan Park was partially developed with grant money from the federal government’s Land and Water Conservation Fund. The City is required to adhere to all grant conditions in perpetuity. One of the requirements is to manage the entire park to ensure that only park-related uses take place within the park.

The parking lot is part of the park and is to only be used for park-related purposes. Public transit and commuter parking is not allowed. If you are parked in this lot for other than park purposes, including public transit/commuter parking, your cooperation in finding alternative parking arrangements will be appreciated by all park customers.

Commuter parking is not permitted. For commuter parking alternatives, call Sound Transit at 888-889-6368.
