3 of 4 Everett City Council Races Contested

Everett, Everett Government

Editor’s Update 12:00PM: Just received the following email update from Megan Dunn…

I am writing with a heavy heart. Three weeks ago our home was flooded by a city sewer main back up and the damage is catastrophic. The flood has left my family unexpectedly displaced and living in a hotel. It’s not possible to run a campaign and reach out to voters while we are recovering and rebuilding our home. I have suspended my campaign for Everett City Council. I’ll continue to stay active in the community and plan to run for office again in the future.

Everett City Council

3of 4 positions are being contested.

With the official filing period closed, three out of the four Everett City Council positions up for election this year are being contested. Two of the positions will go to the primary with Cassie Franklin and Victor (Vic) Paul trying to unseat Ron Gipson at position 4 while Joshua (Josh) Petersen and Charlene N. Rawson try to replace Scott Bader at council position 5. Council position 6, held by incumbent Brenda Stonecipher will move straight to the general election with Erik Richerson as challenger. Judy Tuohy in council position 7 did not draw any challengers but that position will still be on the general election ballot. Back in March of this year Megan Dunn announced she was going to run in position 4 but her name does not appear in the list of those who filed.
