Southbound I-5 Closed After Pedestrian Killed Approaching Everett

Editor’s Update 9:30AM: The Washington State Patrol has identified the victim as a 55 year old man from Seattle. According to WSP the man was standing in lane 1 of the freeway when he was struck by a car. He then landed in lane 1 and was struck by 2 other cars and died at the scene. All drivers stopped and were cooperating with police. No charges are expected.

A pedestrian was struck and killed on I-5 just before the Snohomish River bridge.

4:12AM: Southbound traffic on Interstate 5 is being diverted onto 529 between Marysville and Everett after a pedestrian was killed on I-5 just south of Dagmar’s Landing. The accident happened around 3:00am. Everett Police assisted Washington State Patrol with shutting down Interstate 5. No word on how long the investigation will take. You can get back onto southbound I-5 by taking Eastbound Marine View Drive and going south once you cross the Snohomish River into Everett on 529.
