Man Arrested After Shot Fired At Everett Community College

Update Monday April 6th 2:40pm: Here’s an update from Everett Community College…

Everett police arrested a man Saturday who allegedly fired a shot on EvCC’s main campus Saturday morning near Gray Wolf Hall.

No one was hurt. The shot was fired shortly before 8 a.m. After a search, EvCC discovered a hole in a second-floor window frame of Gray Wolf Hall (north wing) near a stairwell.

Police arrested the man about two hours later. At the time of the man’s arrest, he did not have a gun with him. Police searched the campus and discovered a gun buried outside Shuksan Hall.

The police are investigating what happened and why, but the man’s motive is still not known to us at this time. EvCC is working closely with police and will continue to do so throughout the investigation.

EvCC security informed Everett police about events that were scheduled on campus for Saturday. Classes and the Pink Prom occurred as scheduled without incident.

The investigation is ongoing after a man fired a shot on campus Saturday morning.

Everett Community College reported that a man was arrested today after a shot was fired on campus this morning. Here’s what we know so far from a press release issued by the college:

Everett police arrested a man today who allegedly fired a shot on EvCC’s main campus this morning near Jackson Center.

No one was hurt, and no one was near the unoccupied building at the time the shot was fired, which was shortly before 8 a.m. No property damage has been found.

The police are investigating what happened and why, but the man’s motive is not known to us at this time. EvCC is working closely with police and will continue to do so throughout the investigation.

Everett Police conducted an initial search for the suspect on campus and around the neighborhood immediately after receiving a report about the shot and a man seen on campus security video with a gun. A couple hours after the shooting report, a sharp-eyed Everett Police Officer located the suspect a few blocks south of EvCC. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on a weapons charge. Some evidence has been recovered from the campus.
