Lots of out of town bowlers mean lots of tourist dollars for Everett in April and May!

We hear a lot about events at Xfinity Arena drawing visitors from out of town but for 8 weekends in April and May, both of the bowling alleys in Everett are going to be attracting the out of town crowds as two big bowling events come to Everett, WA. Those bowlers are expected to bring a lot of tourism dollars to Everett. Here’s the early information from Tammy Dunn at the Snohomish County Sports Commission…

The Snohomish County USBC is proud to host the 78th Annual Washington State USBC Open Championships in Everett for eight weekends in a row. They will also be hosting the Open Championships, as well as the Women’s State Tournament. The tournaments are held simultaneously on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from April 11 to May 31. Each weekend, approximately 400 bowlers from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington will compete at host houses; Glacier Lanes and Evergreen Lanes.

The team event, which consists of four bowlers, will be hosted at Glacier Lanes; Saturday’s at 9:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 4:00 p.m. and Sunday’s at 9:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

The singles event will be hosted at Evergreen Lanes Saturday’s at 9:00 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Both bowling houses have great restaurants with fantastic food to enjoy when you stop in to watch a few matches. The general public is welcome to come and watch the event.

“Snohomish County USBC is excited to host this year’s tournaments and we look forward to seeing lots of high scores from bowlers around the multi-state area. It has been over 15 years since the Washington State USBC Open Championships has been held in the county”, states Dennis Jackson, Snohomish County USBC Vice President. “The individual with the highest scratch All Events score will represent the State of Washington in the USBC Master Tournament in 2016.”
