March 17th 11:00am Update: Everett Police say the victim is 22 years old and has non-life-threatening injuries.
Everett Police have confirmed one male was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening wounds after a shooting at 5th and Casino Road Monday night. Everett Police spokesman Aaron Snell tells MyEverettNews.com that around 10:45pm they received calls of shots fired in the Gas Station-Strip Mall at the southwest corner of 5th and Casino. Arriving officers located a male who had been shot. It appeared whoever did the shooting left in a vehicle. At this point major crime detectives have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. Recently there have been multiple shootings in the south Everett area. On March 3rd there were 3 shootings in one hour at 3 different locations. On March 9th there were 2 separate reports of shootings in an hour. No one was hit in those shootings but that has now changed with tonight’s gunfire. Snell says its far too early in the investigation to say if tonight’s shooting was gang related. He also would not comment on the possibility that the shootings over the last 3 weeks are in any way related.
