An 18-year-old Everett man is in the Snohomish County Jail after being arrested by Everett Police yesterday in the shooting death of Jeffery Wehl on January 21st. According to probable cause paperwork filed by Everett Police Detectives, the victim was shot during a robbery. Suspected drugs and drug paraphernalia were found at the scene. The paperwork also said the suspect had been driving a stolen car and was accompanied by a female who told officers she was at the apartment for purposes of prostitution. Police used video from the neighborhood, interviews with witnesses, patrol officers familiarity with some of the people involved and social media to bring the case to a conclusion over the course of two weeks, making the arrest yesterday. The suspect made his first court appearance today and was ordered held. Formal charges are expected to be filed against the 18-year-old within 3 days and others involved could also face charges.
