Girl Hung Out in Everett, Found Buried in Lake Stevens – Sheriff Needs Help

Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for information about 18 year-old Summer Francis Smith, whose remains were located earlier this month in Lake Stevens.  Detectives believe her death was the result of homicide, but cause and manner of death are still pending from the Snohomish County Medical Examiner.

Smith had no connections to the location where her remains were found at the 12000 block of 7^th Pl SE.  She lived in the Everett area, used public transportation, and was last seen in the Everett area November 2014.

Anyone with information about Smith or who she might have associated with is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office anonymous tip line at 425-388-3845.

The Sheriff’s Office suspended search operations in the area where Smith’s remains were found earlier this week.  Detectives and search and rescue volunteers searched more than 30 acres with the assistance of hundreds of volunteers from Snohomish, King, Skagit, Kitsap, and Thurston Counties.
