Everett

January 9th UPDATE: The weekend-long closure for Jan 9 – 11 has been called off by the WSDOT and will be rescheduled but week-long nighttime closures will continue for the next two weeks.

Southbound 529 Bridge

This is the southbound bridge on Highway 529.

Just got this reminder in from WSDOT…

Everett and Marysville area drivers should prepare for overnight closures of the southbound State Route 529 Snohomish River Bridge this week. The southbound bridge will also be fully closed this coming weekend.

The weeknight closures will be from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. nightly from Monday, Jan. 5 to the morning of Friday, Jan. 9. The weekend closure will begin at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 and conclude by 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 12. Southbound drivers should use I-5 during the closures. Local access to Smith Island locations will be available via the 4th Street/Tulalip exit.

Contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will be making adjustments to the new machinery installed as part of a special bridge repair project that was completed in October 2013. The new equipment is used to raise and lower the bridge drawspan.

In the Puget Sound area, drivers can get real-time traffic information on their phone with the WSDOT traffic app, by tracking the WSDOT traffic Twitter feed, and get advanced information from the What’s Happening Now page.
