Power out in south Everett

Neil Neroutsos from Snohomish PUD confirms to MyEverettNews.com that a failure at a power substation in the Olivia Park neighborhood in south Everett caused a power outage affecting about 4700 customers. There have been reports of a few people trapped in elevators at a local hotel and a senior housing complex. The outage began at 11:35am. No word yet on the cause but it can be noted past power outages have been caused by misdirected squirrels. Neroutsos says no estimate on restoration time yet.
