Santa did not fare so well last night…
Here’s an in the light of day update on some of the damage from last night’s windstorm in Everett. Gusts peaked at 62 miles an hour at Everett’s Paine Field. As many as 7,000 people were without power in Everett while Snohomish PUD says 50,000 customers were without power across Snohomish County at the height of the storm. The huge inflatable Santa at Hyundai of Everett on Evergreen Way suffered some serious damage while a tree crashed through a roof of a house at 76th and Lower Ridge Road. A PT Cruiser on Rockefeller had roof damage after a huge branch can down on top and several other homes and vehicles across the city suffered smaller amounts of damage. There were no reports of serious injuries but power outages did keep Everett High, Emerson Elementary and Woodside Elementary schools from opening today. Here are a few pictures of the damage.
