Everett Police crime scene tape

It was a busy Thursday evening for police in Everett, WA. Twitter followers tell us it was quite a scene in north Everett as police surrounded a house in the 1000 block of Maple after a report of an assault with a weapon. Everett Police Spokesman Aaron Snell provides the details in this press release…

At about 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Maple St. on the report of an assault with a weapon. Arriving officers contacted the victim homeowner who stated that a male came over to his house to collect on a debt. The victim and the male got into an altercation during which the male pulled out a knife and also took a handgun from the victim. The victim was able to get out of the house and called 911.

The victim believed the male was still inside his house and officers contained the area. Commands were given for the male to come out and a robot was used to look inside the home. While Everett officers worked to contact the male, Marysville Police Department found the male at a house in Marysville. He was detained and is expected to be booked into the Snohomish County jail.

The victim suffered minor wounds and was not taken to a hospital.

Snell says a short time after that there was more excitement after a young girl was hit while crossing the street at Pacific and Pine…

Traffic detectives are investigating a collision that injured a juvenile in a crosswalk.

At about 7:45 p.m., a 9 year-old girl and an adult were crossing Pacific Ave in a crosswalk at the intersection with Pine St. A vehicle travelling westbound on Pacific Ave struck the girl who sustained non-life threatening injuries. The girl was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett – Colby Campus.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene for the investigation.

At this time, it does not appear that alcohol or drugs were factors in the collision.

The adult was not injured and the girl’s medical status is unknown.
